Why Should You Spend Your Valuable Time on This?
You. Are. Busy. You can’t keep up with your to-do list or your overflowing inbox. Not to mention that growing list of saved Facebook posts is taunting you.
We get it. But, we know two things.
#1: You have dreams. To do something more…bigger…better…than what you’re doing today. You want to grow, be noticed, and be tapped on the shoulder for that gig you have always wanted. #2: You have ideas. You want to be better at what you do. You want to make a difference. Life is short and – unless you’re a YouTube superstar or your great-great Uncle Richard was the inventor of scotch tape and left you independently wealthy – you gotta work. So, you want the work you do every day to matter. To have an impact. To do some good. To give you purpose.
But how do you find a job like that? How do you know what moves to make to get to that dream job? What do you have to do to be the one that gets the promotion? How do you become an influencer at work so your ideas are heard? How do you become an effective people manager so your staff are engaged? How do you learn to be the leader that you know you have the potential to be?
But Really, We Get It. Probably more important than our education or expertise is: we’ve been there. We’ve been in the boring, mindless jobs that sucked the life out of us. We’ve worked for the insensitive boss whose cruel words left us crying in our car in the parking lot. We’ve questioned “what’s the point?” because we realized what we spent our days doing wasn’t making an impact. We’ve been overlooked for the big project, the promotion we had hoped for, and the job we’ve always dreamed about. We’ve felt confused, uncertain, overwhelmed, and stressed out about what to do “when we grow up” and…once we thought we had the answer…we’ve felt lost about how to get there. We’ve searched for guidance, formal education, learning opportunities, mentoring, and experience so we would could get the job we really wanted, and we have been disappointed with what we found. So, we have been there, done that. We’ve been successful, but we’ve also failed (a lot), and we’ve tried, tried, and tried again. We’ve learned, we’ve grown, and we’ve figured out what it takes to thrive. This is a journey. Great leaders can make great things happen. Exceptional leaders can have an exceptional impact on the world. We are still on our personal and professional journeys to become the most effective and impactful leaders we can be, while finding meaning, purpose, and satisfaction from the work we do. We want to be better leaders who change the world for the better, and we want to help you to do the same. This space provides us a vehicle for an exploration of leadership through the lens of science. Like the lens of a camera, our goal for Pixel’s Leadership Lens is to provide a different, unique perspective. We’ll help you to broaden your focus to see the panoramic view on the horizon. We’ll also zoom in on specific issues in order to provide practical, concrete, and actionable guidance and skills to help you achieve your career goals and become a more influential leader. If you don't love what you do, you will get stressed with your job easily! That's why everyone is encouraged to make their passion as their profession because it's hard to do task if you're halfhearted with what you do. Nowadays, it's sad to see that there are people who work just because they want to learn money. They don't really love their job and they just work just because they see this as the only way to earn. That's why while you are young, it's important for you to know the desire of your heart so you can work at your best someday!

For many professionals 'Job and Joy' are like chalk and cheese. If you don't enjoy your work, then you will certainly feel tired of dragging your feet to the calling. I would like to tell that a small amendment can make a huge difference in whether the professional enjoys or dreads his profession. If you want to enjoy your occupation, then you need to identify the good causes because of which you are in a profession. Take frequent breaks when your regimen is highly hectic. You have to organize your space and cultivate a deep connection with the co-workers if you want to discover the excitement at your work.
